Let’s Walk Pembrokeshire is promoting a range of activities, events and routes that will help people take the first steps to making walking a part of their daily routine during May as part of National Walking Month.

Coordinated by the Pembrokeshire National Park Authority, the Let’s Walk Pembrokeshire initiative supports the work of the Creating an Active Wales Pembrokeshire Partnership. Partners include the National Trust, Communities First, and Pembrokeshire Libraries.

The Let’s Walk Pembrokeshire events include talks and guided walks, as well as tours of some beautiful locations.

Park Authority Health and Tourism Policy Officer, Hannah Buck said: “Walking can improve your health and well-being but can also help you connect with your community and learn about your locality, its landscape and natural heritage.

“The events arranged by the Let’s Walk Pembrokeshire partners are ideal for those who need some encouragement or guidance to get started, while the walking routes being promoted are for those who feel able to follow mapped-out routes on their own.

“We hope people will take steps to make walking a part of their normal day to day life and then be inspired to explore the wealth of walking opportunities that Pembrokeshire and the National Park have to offer.

“Along with the amazing Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail, there are a vast number of inland routes and bridleways just waiting to be discovered.”

Those who aren’t able to take part in these events or are looking for walking routes in their area can download more than 200 circular walks by visiting

For those who require more accessible routes, including wheelchair users or parents with prams or buggies, there are also Walks for All routes, which can be found by visiting

Pembrokshire Coast National Park Authority is also promoting events and highlighting short walking routes via Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #LetsWalkPembs.
