Cllr Brinsden was elected by Members at the Annual General Meeting of the National Park Authority at its head office in Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock.

Cllr Mike James is the new Vice Chairman, taking over the role previously held by Cllr Rob Lewis.

Returning Chairman Cllr Tony Brinsden said: “I consider it a great honour to continue in this role in this landmark 60th year. I hope that we will be able to continue to uphold the principles of the National Park despite the difficult economic problems we all face.”

“I look forward to the opportunity of working with our new and existing Members over the next year to deliver the aims of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.”

Cllr Brinsden, who is from Llanteg, is undertaking his eighth year of service to the Authority, having joined in 2004. He has also acted as Chairman of the Development Management Committee from 2006-2009.

At the meeting Mrs Gwyneth Hayward was appointed as Chairman of the Development Management Committee, taking over from Cllr Simon Hancock.
