What's on? - Castell Henllys Iron Age Village

Castell Henllys is the only Iron Age Village in Britain reconstructed on the exact site where our Celtic ancestors lived 2,000 years ago. Here you can walk in the footsteps of the Demetae tribe.

Our exciting events offer you the chance to train as a warrior, watch a woodsman at work, huddle around a roundhouse fire to hear tales from a bygone age and learn lessons from the past that can help us to conserve the landscape we live in today.

The hill fort sits on an inland outcrop with stunning views of the surrounding countryside which today forms the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The Castell Henllys experience in 2015

The Castell Henllys experience is better than ever, with the addition of a new interactive Visitor Centre. So before you head up to the fort, you can enjoy:

  • Interactive exhibitions
  • Café and gift shop
  • Children’s play area and maze
  • Riverside picnic site

Castell Henllys also has an interactive app which includes videos, challenges and maps to help you enjoy your visit.

The Castell Henllys redevelopment is funded by Cadw’s Heritage Tourism Project (part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund – ERDF) and the Visit Wales Digital Tourism Business Framework (funded by the ERDF).
